Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake

This decadent chocolate cheesecake was featured in the Swedish Magazine, Hemmet’s journal and is the perfect sweet centerpiece for any festive occasion.

  • Oreo Crust
  • 20 Oreo cookies
  • 50 g Melted butter
  • Cheesecake
  • 800 g Cream cheese
  • 2 dl Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1 dl Creme Fraiche or (Sour Cream)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 300 g 70% chocolate I use Couverture chocolate or Lindt


  • Heat the oven to 120c degrees 
    Crush the cookies in a food processor. Alternatively, you can place the oreo cookies in a plastic bag, seal the bag and crush the cookies with help of a rolling pin. Mix the crushed cookies well with the melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9″ pie form with detachable edge. Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
    Mix together cream cheese, sugar, vanilla powder and salt to a smooth cream. Stir in the eggs one at a time. Add the flour, then creme fraiche and finally the melted chocolate. Pour the cheesecake into the prepared cake form with the cookie bottom.
    Bake the cheesecake in the middle of the heated oven for 45-50 minutes. I recommend checking after 30 minutes. The cheesecake should still be a little loose in the middle when removed from the oven. Allow to cool and set before serving. At least 6 hours or preferably over night.
    Important: When baking the New York cheesecake, it is important to avoid mixing the batter too much. Mixing too much adds air to the batter, causing the cheesecake to get large cracks when it comes out of the oven. If that happens, you can hide it with melted chocolate and the decorations.
    Chocolate Snowflake
    50 grams white chocolate
    1 piece baking paper
    1 drawing of a snowflakes
    Print or draw a snowflake in the size you want on the cake
    Place the baking paper over the drawing so you see through it.
    Spread out the melted chocolate over the line of snowflake drawing.
    Let stand in the fridge until it hardens.
